Applications Under the Water Conservation Policy for Upstream Oil and Gas Operations, are submitted based on a risk base approach. One of the risk tier criteria is related to the relative availability of water resources in the area in which water is being requested, categorized as water-short, potentially water-short, locally constrained, or not water-short. The purpose of this map is to provide this area-based water availability information that is needed for the determination of which tier a Water Act licence application falls under.
